Tell Phorm to phuck off

A company called Phorm looks like its going to be used by major internet providers like BT and others to read your web traffic and decide what adverts to give you. This means they will be reading web content from all kinds of people – many of whom won’t even be their customers. If Facebook is going to be serious about protecting privacy, it needs to protect our personal data.

Facebook needs to tell Phorm and BT not to read any data from Facebook, by opting out of their system.

It looks like there might be some movement from Facebook; speaking to El Reg, Facebook’s privacy person said that people unhappy with Phorm should make their feelings known You can do that by joining this Facebook group.

Background at badphorm.co.uk and Political Penguin.

xD.
