Happy with LT?
Figures for satisfaction with London Transport are out (see p30/31 of this PDF), I see from the inimitable Tory Troll.
| Method | Satisfaction (%) |
| London Buses | 80 |
| London Overground | 79 |
| London Underground | 79 |
| Croydon Trams | 86 |
| Dial-a-Ride | 88 |
| London River Services | 87 |
| PCO – Taxis | 85 |
| PCO – Minicabs | 81 |
| Victoria Coach Station | 78 |
As a commenter under the Troll’s bridge points out, there’s no figure given for streets, which partially falls under TfL’s remit.
Given that the Tube and Overground and in various stages of upgrade, that’s not too bad. Between three-quarters and four-fifths satisfaction is pretty good. They missing number – which I’ve FOId to find out – is the number of daily journeys by each method. For the Tube, it’s about four and one-quarter million riders per weekday; the same figure for the buses is about six million.
xD.

I am surprised by this high rate of approval but I am glad. Not having a car any longer, I use public transport all the time and see it at its best and its worst. (Try travelling south on the Bank branch of the Northern Line at 8:30 am on a weekday: sardines in a tin are far more comfortable…)
I think public transport is a wonderful thing and wish to see it thrive and prosper. If 80% of users agree then I’m pleased.
Now, what can we do to get these pesky car drivers off the roads…?

Certainly, the Tube at rush hour, and particularly at stations like Bank, Victoria and King’s X, is not pleasant. That having been said, I used to commute westwards to Hammersmith and, even at half-eight in the morning, I usually found a seat.
I commute by bus and while things are often a bit busy for the first few stops after Waterloo, it’s not too horrendous.
Unlike a car, you can jump on a bus after having had a drink.
xD.
